Located in Shengsi, Zhoushan, Zhejiang, Huanglong Island is only one hour from Shanghai to Shengsi Main Island, and just 15 minutes further by boat. With its winding terrain resembling a golden dragon resting between sea and sky, the island is named “Huanglong.” The vast seascape and horizon shift dramatically with changes in weather and wind, creating their own kind of “chemical reaction.”
The island features a lighthouse, reefs, fishing harbors, stone houses, wooden boats, and the simple life of island residents—fulfilling every imagination of a true seaside village. Inspired by the island’s iconic weathered rocks, the lodge is built using rough stone materials and divided into two building clusters oriented for optimal sea views. Natural reef formations are preserved within the interior, becoming the lodge’s most stunning decoration and rebuilding the harmonious beauty of “rock and ocean coexisting” within the village.
